Dustin Johnson's Complaint

Dustin Johnson (USA) lamented his failure to participate in the Ryder Cup.

The British Telegraph reported on the morning of the 14th that Johnson had to be included in the U.S. national team for the Ryder Cup and claimed that he was not allowed to participate in this year's tournament because he was a LIV Golf Invitational.

According to the Telegraph, Johnson said, "I wanted to participate in the Ryder Cup on behalf of the United States, but I didn't play enough to be selected for the team," adding, "But if I were a member of the PGA Tour, I would have been selected for the Ryder Cup."

Johnson then said, "I'm not a member of the PGA Tour, so I should have done well in this year's major tournament. However, he admitted that he had a little difficulty in major tournaments this year, adding, "I want to participate in the Rider Cup because it is a great competition that I have participated in for the past decade or so."

In fact, Johnson tied for 10th at the U.S. Open this year (3-under 277), tied for 48th at the Masters (8-over-par 296), tied for 55th at the PGA Championship (9-over-par 289), and failed to cut the Open (13-over-par 155).

U.S. General Manager Jack Johnson selected Brooks Koepka from the same LIV as Johnson. Unlike LIV and Johnson, Koepka also performed well in major tournaments, including winning the PGA Championship (9-under 271), runner-up in the Masters (8-under 280), and tied for 17th in the US Open (1-under 279). Thanks to this, he was the only LIV player in the U.S. and Europe to qualify for the Ryder Cup.

The European team, which will face the U.S. in the Ryder Cup, also reacted regretfully to the elimination of LIV players. When veteran Sergio Garcia (Spain), who plays for LIV, was not selected, Yon Lam said in an interview with U.S. media Golf Week, "It is really foolish not to rely on Garcia's Ryder Cup experience, he is the best player in Europe." 토토사이트

It is well known that a leading player who was active on the PGA Tour will head to LIV and will not be able to compete in the Ryder Cup. However, Lam defended, saying, "I think the situation may change a little due to the possibility of integration of the PGA Tour and LIV."
